Once Spock was safely aboard, he went directly to the bridge and relieved Chekov at the science station. He then set his tricorder on the console and began a direct transfer of all the data, so that the ship’s computer could store it in its memory banks so that it could then be analyzed.
While he was waiting for the data transfer to complete itself, Spock listened to Uhura as she told him about what had happened in his absence.
Apparently the Enterprise had been attacked by an enormous Decepticon warship, disabling nearly everything except life support before they managed to fend off the huge ship. During the attack several crewmembers had been injured, including Captain Kirk, but there had only been three deaths. Everyone, including the captain, were in stable condition. And everyone uninjured was working around the clock to get the ship back into working order.
However, they were apparently no closer to figuring out how the Enterprise had gotten to this year in Earth’s past in the first place. Nor did they know how the Decepticons and Autobots had ended up here from their alternate reality, or how several other individuals from different times and places ended up here.
Right now though, their main concern was to stop the Decepticons from doing whatever they were trying to do on Earth. They were a big threat, one that could contaminate the timeline even more than they already had.
Once the data finished transferring into the tricorder, Spock sat down to take a look at it. When he finished reading, he raised an eyebrow. “Fascinating,” he said.
